Today the AFL-CIO dropped the first round of regular, direct mail pieces that will reach voters in key battleground states. The program begins by calling out Donald Trump’s hypocrisy to more than 150,000 voters in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The AFL-CIO will send mail to union members in six additional states including Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire and North Carolina every week until Election Day.

“Direct mail is one of the best tried and true ways we get information about elections to our members,” said AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka. “Working families trust their unions more than any other source of information, and we take that seriously. Getting this material in our members’ mailboxes makes a critical difference in educating them about why Donald Trump, and other anti-worker candidates are wrong for America.”

The first set of direct mail pieces expose the truth about Donald Trump and his shady business practices of failing to pay workers and outsourcing jobs to other countries. The persuasion mailers will also focus on down-ballot candidates who are on the wrong side of the issues affecting working families.
