Dear Representative,
Legislation extending the Highway Trust Fund (HTF) will be on the House floor tomorrow. The AFL-CIO believes Congress should work toward reaching a long-term HTF reauthorization this year. To facilitate this goal, we strongly urge the House to allow a vote on the bipartisan bill that overwhelmingly passed the Senate yesterday. The Senate bill as amended, requires Congress to act before the end of this legislative session.
The AFL-CIO urges Congress to use the time provided by the short-term extension to work toward implementing a well-funded, bipartisan, and multiyear bill this year.
