Our posting service database is consulted regularly by union hiring managers when filling researcher and campaigner vacancies. We’re looking for new and seasoned researchers and campaigners: people with experience in union campaigns, community organizing, or political campaigns; college graduates, graduate students, or professionals with skills in areas such as economic analysis, industry research, financial analysis, employment law, corporate research, or investigative journalism; and people with a strong commitment to working in the labor movement. If a union is interested in pursuing your application, you will be contacted directly by the individuals who are hiring for specific positions. What do union campaign researcher jobs pay?
Qualifications, pay, benefits, and job duties for researchers vary by union, so you will need to discuss specific job openings with a union staff person if you are contacted for an interview. Will posting my resume here result in an interview or job offer?
It might, but posting your materials by no means guarantees that you will be interviewed or offered a position. What posting here does do is to increase the chances of your resume being seen by affiliated unions when they are hiring researchers. Is posting my resume here the same as applying for specific positions at the AFL-CIO or at affiliated unions?
No, posting your materials here is not the same as applying for specific positions at the AFL-CIO or at affiliated unions. You are free to apply for specific jobs at the AFL-CIO and/or at affiliated unions, in addition to posting your materials at this site. What if I'm currently employed by an affiliated union? Research managers at AFL-CIO affiliates have access to resumes posted here. If you are currently employed at an affiliated union, you should post here only if you've notified your employer that you're looking. What if I want to update my resume or posting form?
If the changes are minor, you may wish to wait and see if you are contacted by a union hiring manager, at which time you can provide an updated resume. If the changes are significant, you should do an entirely new posting and then your prior posting will be deleted. What if I want to remove my records from the database?
Contact the CSR database administrator at jobsearch@aflcio.org. If hired by a union, you are expected to remove your materials from the AFL-CIO database in order to avoid being contacted by other unions. What happens if I never get contacted?
