Today’s rejection of the fiscally irresponsible House Reconciliation bill (H.R. 4241) is a major victory for working families that would have been unfairly burdened with cuts to programs that provide for job growth and health care to finance yet another round of tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans.
Congressional leadership and the Bush administration received a clear message today: American workers won’t tolerate our leaders running up the national deficit and promoting tax cuts for the rich at the expense of programs that support working families and poor Americans.
