U.S. House of Representatives, New Jersey, District 7

LINDA STENDER has served our communities as Fanwood mayor and on the Union County board of freeholders. As a state legislator, she supported our union rights and will continue to do so in Congress.

Supports Raising the Minimum Wage. Linda Stender voted to raise the New Jersey minimum wage to $7.15 an hour and to establish penalties for failing to pay the minimum wage. (S-2065/3781, 2004-05; A-2948, 2002-03)

Fights for Better Health Care. Linda Stender believes the Medicare drug plan is a “bonanza for Big Business that mostly confused people who were supposed to benefit from it.” She said the administration is ignoring health care. (Courier News, 4/16/06)

Keeps Our Jobs From Going Overseas. Linda Stender co-sponsored a bill requiring that state contracts use U.S. workers. (A-2133, 2004-05)
