Supports Our Freedom to Form Unions. Nelson co-sponsored the Employee Free Choice Act and was targeted by an anti-union group for refusing to support “Right-to-Work-for-Less” legislation designed to destroy unions. (St. Petersburg Times, 10/30/00; NRTW Newsletter, 5/06)

Protected Our Wages and Overtime Pay. Nelson voted against weakening wage and overtime protections for millions of workers. (S. 256, S.Amdt. 128, Vote #27, 3/7/05)

Opposed Privatizing Government Jobs. Nelson voted to stop the federal government from privatizing jobs and outsourcing contracts. (S.1637, Vote #32, 3/4/04; H.R.4567, Vote #168, 9/8/04)
