Advocates For Our Health Care. Phyllis Busansky led the fight to establish universal health care coverage. GUS BILIRAKIS HAS FAILED WORKING FAMILIES
Denied Us Affordable Health Care. Gus Bilirakis voted against the Fair Share Health Care Act, which would have provided health insurance for thousands of Floridians without coverage. He voted to privatize the Medicaid system and jeopardize the health care of 2.2 million of Florida’s most vulnerable children and seniors. ( H.B. 813, 2006; S.B. 838, 2005)
Failed Working Families. Gus Bilirakis received a “zero” score from the Florida AFL-CIO in 2005—a “perfect” record of voting against the best interests of workers and their families. The United Labor Lobby ranked him as one of the worst legislators in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006. ()
Opposed Reducing Class Size In Our Schools. Gus Bilirakis has consistently voted against Florida’s public education system.
