Robin Williams Used Humor for Good Causes

Actor and comedian Robin Williams—a two-time Screen Actors Guild Award winner—was “not only a talented man, but a true humanitarian,” said SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard. Williams, 63, died Monday in an apparent suicide, according to authorities.

Never Felt so Good: Michael Jackson's New Music Video with Justin Timberlake Features Dancers with a Union Contract

We already know Justin Timberlake is awesome for negotiating a fair union contract with the dancers on his 20/20 Experience World Tour—the first touring contract of its kind for SAG-AFTRA tour dancers—but now Dancers' Alliance informs us Michael Jackson's new music video with Timberlake, "Love Never Felt so Good," features dancers covered by a union contract.

Actor James Rebhorn Penned His Own Obituary, Thanked His Union Family

Actor James Rebhorn, who many know from the TV series "Homeland" (I personally love his performance as the father of the groom in "Meet the Parents"), passed away last week after a more than 10-year battle with skin cancer. Rebhorn had written his own obituary, which you can view on his New Jersey church's website.

No Fancy Commercials, but Super Bowl is Brought to You by Union Members

Sunday was the first outdoor, cold weather site Super Bowl in the game’s 48-year history. The frigid weather in the weeks leading up to the game didn't  stop the thousands of union members who brought you the game. On the scene at MetLife Stadium in the New Jersey Meadowlands or behind the scenes at many facilities in the Metro New York-New Jersey area, union members made the nation’s national party day possible.

Professional Dancer Union Member Credits AFA-CWA Member Mom

When Dana Wilson was a teenager, she was offered a job at a local supermarket where union members were on strike. She asked her mother, Denver-based United Airlines Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA) member Stefani Wilson, what the employer meant when he said she would have to cross the picket line.
