What I Do
IBEW helps build Busch Gardens' newest roller coaster.
Since 1992, the Union Plus Scholarship Program has awarded more than $3.2 million to students of working families who want to begin or continue their post-secondary education. Over 2,100 families have benefited from our commitment to higher education.
In 2013, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech, the AFL-CIO and Union Plus offered scholarships to help graduating high school seniors realize their dreams of a college education.
The one-time $5,000 scholarships were for study for the academic year beginning in the fall 2013 through summer 2014. Sixty scholarships were awarded.
The Union Plus Scholarship Program is offered annually in amounts ranging from $500 to $4,000 through the Union Plus Education Foundation.
With the help of donations from union supporters, the Union Plus Education Foundation can help even more union families attain their education goals. No goods or services of any value were or will be transferred to you in connection with this donation.
