Cathedral of Learning—University of Pittsburgh

The local college campus might not be the first place that comes to mind when planning a sightseeing trip, but the Nationality Rooms at the University of Pittsburgh are a notable exception. These 26 functional classrooms in the towering Cathedral of Learning display the rich ethnic heritage of the Pittsburgh area, each built and decorated in a style that exemplifies the country they represent. Where else can you visit 26 countries in one day!

Fort Pitt Block House and Museum

Located on the original site of Fort Pitt, the museum is a collection of 18th century artifacts and interpretive exhibits. The Fort Pitt Block House, built in 1764, is Pittsburgh’s oldest historic landmark and the only surviving structure of Fort Pitt. The site offers a unique opportunity to experience history through artifacts and interpretation.

Monongahela Incline

The Monongahela Incline, the oldest continuously operating funicular in the United States and overlooks one of the world's great cityscapes.
