Working Families Celebrate the Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Working families celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy of fighting for civil rights and social and economic justice for all Americans. This year, King's fight for the right to vote is as palpable as it was in the days when access to polling places was denied by law because of race or gender.

King's work reveals the common bonds between all workers—regardless of race or other differences. Today's unions continue the work begun by King and thousands of others by making the voices of America's working families heard on the job, in the voting booth, in our communities and in the global economy.
