Change.org Does the Right Thing, Drops Anti-Teacher Groups

Last night, under growing pressure, Change.org confirmed it is cutting ties with StudentsFirst and Stand for Children. This is great news. Change.org started as a force to make the world a better place and, with this decision, it has taken a step forward in doing just that. The outcry from the progressive community about Change.org’s partnerships with these groups sent a clear statement: We see through your ruse. Corporate agendas to bust unions, get rid of public schools and turn education into a for-profit enterprise are not progressive. They are not good for teachers, students or democracy, and we will fight back.
