New Type of Union, A Responsible Consumers Union

I hope to meld the power of the consumer over corporations and the power of the union over politics to bring the blessings of liberty to the majority.

Hello my name is Frank Scruggs and I'm an inventor and displaced Detroit autoworker. In a 2000 campaign speech George W. Bush promised a tax cut for the "average American" he said the average American earns $250,000 a year. By getting the top 1% a 75% tax cut he claimed to lower the average person taxes this of course is a mathematic trick the median American only made $65,000 a year and received no tax cut. Bush justified the tax cuts for the wealthy claiming that they would create jobs but what the wealthy did was by robots and displaced workers. There is a robot that now does my weld on the Jeep Cherokees. Since the Bush tax cuts destroyed my job instead of creating jobs I want my money back. Did you know capitalism is still illegal for the poor in America. When my job at Etna automotive was over I decided to follow the American dream and turn my idea for a new health food into a company "RC Free Foods". I did not know the "blue sky" laws effectively outlawed capitalism for the poor. The original blue sky laws of 1933 were designed to prevent inventors from taking advantage of an ignorant public. Only somebody who is rich already or an expert in the field is allowed to invest in this high risk high return type of investment. It is illegal to even tell you what the reward on this type investment could be. For example the venture capitalists who invested in Facebook contributed $12.7 million but received 1,000 fold return on that investment or $13 billion. This type return is the real blessing of liberty in America that the preamble of the Constitution spoke of . If I were to imply that one of my companies should do so well I would be indicted for solicitation and accused of fraud even if the performance projection was accurate. Recent laws have made getting funding easier but I find funding is still out of my reach.

So out of work and without any unemployment compensation I reach yet again for the brass ring of the blessings of liberty. When on April of 2012 Obama signed the 2012 jobs act which included provisions for crowd funding, my hope blossomed. And it may be if we unite at this particular time in history we may steer the bureaucrats and pave the way for new venture creation. New ventures can create jobs far more cheaply than any other means. George Bush said the average income in America is $250,000 a year if you have an average job and you did not make $250,000 a year is because you do not possess and have not exercised the brass ring of liberty.

I propose starting a union with the express purpose of securing the blessings of liberty to the union members and secondarily to the majority at large. I propose that union members pay dues of $10 per month. And that these funds be used to assist startup companies. The union would evaluate and rate these companies as to risk versus return and social contribution. The union membership would then be allowed to invest first in these companies as they matured. The members would be encouraged to patronize these companies to support their fellow members. Any new company job openings will be offered to union members first." We will create our own damn jobs."

The mechanics of a financial coup. By consuming our own products first and allowing a maximum of $3 million to be held by any individual in any one of our new companies; we effectively lock out the megarich and substitute their businesses for our own.

Sincerely,

Frank Scruggs
