Music Video Idea

I recently saw the article about the music video that UFCW 400 did about unionism in the Union City newsletter. It was a great video with a great message that got me thinking...

Being a part of IATSE I know mostly about unions related to entertainment and wonder whether these unions (IATSE, AGMA, AGVA, AFM, Actor's Equity, CWA, NFL Players, Writers Guild, SAG/AFTRA, and so on...) and other unions would be willing to use their skills and talents to work with UFCW to adapt their song and video to make it a universal message for commercial release to the public at large and this is why...

This is a great video and has a great message about the labor movement.
Can you imagine the impact this would have if we had people walking down the streets of the United States with their headphones on singing about unionism because it is a good song with a good message? Subliminally even non union members may absorb the message...

I keep seeing anti-union commercials on TV that are negative and mislead the public. If we were to present our message using more positive means than these organizations do, I think we would have a greater public impact (especially on younger generations) than the negative propaganda commercials do. Producing, distributing and selling a song about unions would do just that.

If we could get a celebrity union member to endorse and maybe sing or be in the video, we would have a better chance of getting it played maybe on MTV, VH1, YouTube, etc..., and could maybe sell it on ITunes for .99 cents per download to at least cover the production costs involved with this project.

Just a thought...
