Tell Your Senators to Bring Jobs Home

Time is running out. Tomorrow (Thursday) the U.S. Senate will vote on the Bring Jobs Home Act (S. 3364 [formerly S. 2884]). Make your voice heard in the battle to stop corporate tax breaks for firms that export American jobs overseas and reward companies that bring jobs home.

Call your senators at 888-659-9401 and urge them to support the Bring Jobs Home Act.

With more than 6 million manufacturing jobs lost through offshoring in the past decade, it’s time to reverse that trend with the Bring Jobs Home Act. The bill will cut taxes for U.S. companies that move jobs and business operations to the United States and end tax loopholes that reward companies that ship jobs overseas.

The Bring Jobs Home Act stands in stark contrast to Mitt Romney’s so-called job creation plans that include completely eliminating taxes on U.S. firms’ overseas profits. A new study this week says that Romney’s plan would “further accelerate the outsourcing of American jobs to foreign countries.”

In more than 100 events across the country, working families have been building support for the Bring Jobs Home Act. Click here for a look at recent actions.

Along with the Bring Jobs Home Act, a measure that House Republicans voted down last week, working families also are pushing for a call center bill that would bar companies that send call center jobs overseas from receiving federal grants and tax breaks.

Working people are calling on lawmakers to:

  • Address currency manipulation by other countries, which is a key driver of offshoring;
  • Tax the overseas income of U.S. corporations the same way we tax their domestic income, so they can no longer lower their tax bill by shifting income and jobs overseas; and
  • Push for fair trade policies that benefit workers—not just multinational corporations.

Call your senators at 888-659-9401 and urge them to support the Bring Jobs Home Act,and text JOBS to 235246 to get info and action alerts to help bring America's jobs home. (Message and data rates may apply.)
