Resolutions on Southern Organizing, Collective Bargaining and Other Topics also Pass at AFL-CIO Convention

AFL-CIO delegates took on other initiatives by passing the following resolutions at the AFL-CIO Convention in Los Angeles today:

  • Resolution 26: Resolution to Develop a Southern Organizing Strategy [Amended];
  • Resolution 38: Resolution That Reynolds American Inc. Establish a Process with FLOC That Guarantees Freedom of Association and Worker Representation for Tobacco Farm Workers in the Tobacco Supply Chain;
  • Resolution 41: Collective Bargaining; and
  • Resolution 49: Resolution to Include Union Label Identification in Contract Language.

The convention delegates also passed a constitutional amendment that would give young workers a seat on the AFL-CIO General Board.
