Nurses Say, 'Don't Push Seniors Off the Cliff'

Nurses and members of National Nurses United (NNU) know that if Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits are cut, people they care for every day will be hurt. This is why across the United States and in Washington, D.C., NNU is running bus ads as part of a national campaign telling Congress not to push seniors off of the so-called "fiscal cliff."

NNU said in a statement:

Our members—185,000 RNs nationwide—believe that cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security would constitute austerity measures that target our most vulnerable communities.  These cuts would induce greater poverty and hardship and undercut efforts to rebuild an economy still suffering from effects of the 2008 financial collapse.
