Don't Let John Boehner Steal Christmas

Don't Let John Boehner Steal Christmas

Anyone who wants to cut Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits to finance massive tax giveaways for the rich must have a heart two sizes too small

Today, we're tweeting at House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, telling them to stop holding working people hostage just so the wealthiest 2% can receive more tax giveaways.

Click here to send this message to Boehner and McConnell: Don’t “steal Christmas” by passing GOP benefit cuts.

We're calling on the White House and Congress to hold strong against the Social Security cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) cut, raising the Medicare age and any other devastating GOP benefit cuts Boehner is demanding in exchange for ending tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires.

Please visit our new site www.aflcio.org/BoehnerStealsXmas and spread the word.

The Boehner Who Stole Christmas

Working people of all ages count on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid a lot

but John Boehner and his billionaire buddies certainly do not.

Bohner hates these lifelines, without any reason,

so he’s aiming to slash them this holiday season.

While families agree the 2% should pay more taxes,

Boehner and his cronies are coming for our benefits with GOP axes.

A bad lame-duck deal means many will fall through the cracks,

so we call on Congress, “Don’t listen to these quacks.”

Members of Congress, we’re calling and writing;

no benefit cuts for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid—just stop all this fighting!

So don’t let your heart shrink two sizes too small,

or we’ll vote you from office, Boehner and you all!
