Union Members @Work: Training
“Training” is the spotlight category today, as the launch of the AFL-CIO online hub @Work continues.
Training @Work highlights the training programs unions run such as the TCU/IAM Job Corps Program, which gives young workers the advanced transportation training necessary for good jobs today. In 1971, TCU/IAM first partnered with the U.S. Department of Labor; and today, hundreds of students take part each year. So far, more than 8,400 young men and women have been placed in jobs in rail, airline companies and mass transit.
