Thanks, Diddy! Winners and Losers of the Week

In our regular weekly feature, we'll be taking a look at the winners and losers of the week in the struggle for the rights of working families. The winners will be the persons or organizations that go above and beyond to expand or protect the rights of working families, while the losers will be whoever went above and beyond to limit or deny those rights.

Winner: Hip-hop icon Sean John (better known as Diddy) joined rapper Common in support of Nissan workers who are attempting to organize in Canton, Miss.  View his message of support above.

Runner-Up: Truck drivers, nearly two-thirds of whom have been misclassified as independent contractors, won a settlement from the National Labor Relations Board saying that employers have to refrain from harassing them for attempting to organize a union.

Loser: Jim DeMint, president of conservative idea tank The Heritage Foundation, doesn't seem to be up to debating raising the minimum wage.

Runner-Up: Gov. Pat Quinn (D-Ill.) seems to be having some trouble with his plans to cut public employee pensions.
