Soulful Sheet Metal Worker Advances on ‘The Voice’

Mycle Wastman, a member of Sheet Metal Workers (SMWIA) Local 66 in Seattle, certainly made his voice heard this week. In the “blind audition” portion of the NBC show, “The Voice,” his performance of the Al Green classic “Let’s Stay Together” drew a rousing ovation and a chance to go on to the next round.

After the celebrity judges pitched him to be part of their “teams,” Wastman chose to go with Cee Lo Green, who told Wastman:

You are the total package. I am the most excited about you than anyone else.

For those of you who don’t follow the show, here’s how “The Voice” works. The show airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m./7 p.m. Central. Another round of blind auditions is set for next week. Check your local listings. Visit Wastman’s website.

On the YouTube page where you can view Wastman’s “Stay Together,” commenter elvinalingas writes:

I keep coming back here to listen to him...how to say, his singing is so soulful and breezy, make me thinking of drinking a sip of wine while soaking in a tub with a love lol.

Al Green would be proud.
