LIUNA’s Booker New BCTD Secretary-Treasurer

Brent Booker, former director of the Construction Department at the Laborers' (LIUNA), is the new secretary-treasurer of the AFL-CIO Building and Construction Trades Department (BCTD). He was elected today by the BCTD’s Governing Board of Presidents.

Booker succeeds Sean McGarvey, who was elected BCTD president following the April death of Mark Ayers. McGarvey says Booker

knows what it takes for our unions to succeed in today's marketplace.

Booker is a graduate of the University of Virginia and a member of LIUNA Local 795 in New Albany, Ind. He says he will work to advance “21st century commitment to excellence that is centered upon a business model devoted to delivering 'Value on Display, Every Day."
