IAM Member, Wounded Vet Looks for Texas Whitetails

If you missed last week’s episode of “Brotherhood Outdoors” from the Union Sportsmen's Alliance, take a look at this video of Machinists (IAM) member and wounded Iraq war veteran, Connie Rendon, on a Texas hunt for a white-tailed buck.

Rendon, a sergeant first class in the Army Reserve from Portland, Texas, suffered severe injuries in 2004 when a roadside bomb exploded as the supply truck she was driving passed by. She went through years of surgeries and physical therapy but still does not have use of her right hand. When she returned to her job at Sikorsky Aerospace, she says her brothers and sisters in IAM Local 2916:

Really supported me. They took care of me. To me my union is like a family.

"Brotherhood Outdoors," which airs on the Sportsman Channel, pairs union members with renowned outdoorsman Tom Ackerman for a guided hunting or fishing trip in North America. Union members on the show also have the opportunity to show off their skills by taking Ackerman to their own favorite hunting or fishing sites.
