AFL-CIO Marks National POW-MIA Remembrance Day in Wreath Ceremony at Arlington Cemetery
Today, AFL-CIO Community Services Coordinator Will Fischer and AFL-CIO Union Veterans Council Director James Gilbert laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery for National POW–MIA Remembrance Day.
Both Fischer and Gilbert are decorated military veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. We salute all of our military veterans today and thank them for their sacrifice and service. Today's wreath-laying ceremony was in partnership with No Greater Love (NGL), which is a nonprofit, patriotic, humanitarian organization that honors our fallen and their grieving families, our troops and our veterans.
Throughout the year, NGL has remembrance wreath-laying ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknowns for those who died in all our wars, conflicts and incidents since 1776.
