Get a LIFT from Berger-Marks
The Labor Innovation Fund for the Twenty-First Century, aka LIFT, a collaborative project of the AFL-CIO with the Ford Foundation, the Solidago Foundation and the New World Foundation, was recently highlighted by the Berger-Marks Foundation. LIFT gives grants to partnership projects, “conversations around common agendas," and other efforts to link the union movement with community organizing focused on workers’ rights, decent jobs and a fair economy.
Recently the Berger-Marks highlighted LIFT’s grants and its work with traditional and non-traditional worker organizing such as the National Taxi Workers Alliance, the Los Angeles Clean Carwash Campaign and other projects.
The story on the foundation’s blog points out that while LIFT doesn’t accept unsolicited grant proposals, the Berger-Marks Foundation does—though with more limited funds. The deadline for this year’s grant proposals is March 8, and you can click here to find out more.
