Tell North Dakota Gov. Dalrymple: Don’t Hurt Locked-Out Workers
The North Dakota AFL-CIO is calling out the hypocrisy of legislative Republicans and asking the state's residents to demand that Gov. Jack Dalrymple (R) veto a bill that would deny locked-out workers unemployment benefits. According to an action alert sent out by the state federation, extreme right-wing Republicans in the legislature have voted to both deny locked-out workers unemployment benefits and to give themselves pay raises and more benefits.
The legislation has gone to Dalrymple's desk, and the North Dakota AFL-CIO is asking the governor to veto the bill. Opponents of the raise can send a message to the governor and the legislators who are attacking the locked-out workers.
After passing pay raises for themselves, right-wing legislators in Bismarck approved a bill to deny unemployment benefits to locked-out workers.
That bill is now on Gov. Jack Dalrymple’s desk to sign into law. Tell Gov. Dalrymple to stand up for North Dakota working families and veto H.B. 1112.
