BREAKING: Wis. Republican Lawmakers Give Up Until Tuesday

Wisconsin’s Republican legislators have put off a vote on a bill that would undermine good, middle-class jobs and take collective bargaining rights away from some 200,000 public employees, according to JSOnline and other news reports.

Democrats in the state Senate left the capitol yesterday, stalling a vote on the measure. Today, JSOnline reports, Republicans tried to push through a vote with no one on the other side of the aisle. Chaos ensued and supporters of legislative assault on Wisconsin workers postponed debate and a vote until at least Tuesday–when Democrats will be able to offer amendments.

Workers will continue rallying against the bill in Wisconsin throughout the weekend, and solidarity rallies are planned in other several states. Check back for more over the weekend.
