At a factory in Astoria, Queens, workers, from a variety of backgrounds, races, religions and ethnicities, come together each day to patiently put together Steinway pianos—the greatest pianos in the world. Creating a Steinway piano is a nearly yearlong process and, in addition to patience, involves many skilled craftspeople.
