Clarence's Story: Why We Need a Functioning NLRB

Clarence Adams from Brooklyn, N.Y., was fired by Cablevision for asking for a fair contract. He explains here why a functioning National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is important for America's working families.

Join the Give Us 5 NLRB Members campaign to ensure workers' rights are protected on the job.

From the campaign:

By enforcing labor laws, the NLRB protects more than 80 million private sector workers. It’s time for the Senate to confirm the three Democrats and two Republicans who have been nominated to the NLRB so that workers’ rights are protected and labor law is fairly enforced.

When workers stand up for themselves at work, they deserve to be protected from employer harassment, discipline or termination. The Senate must confirm all five of President Obama’s nominees to the National Labor Relations Board so that the Board can do its job and enforce the laws that protect workers.
