Billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch could be the poster boys for the big money special interests that are dumping hundreds of millions of dollars in this year’s elections on the national and state levels. Last week, it was reported that the American Future Fund (AFF), a front group for corporate special interests that’s linked to the Kochs, dropped $4 million into the effort to pass California’s Prop. 32.

There’s a cacophony of misinformation from Fox News, right-wing think tanks and extreme conservative politicians about Social Security. “Privatize it,” they yell. “It’s going broke,” they scream. “Raise the retirement age,” they bellow.

Day six of the Walkerville tent city protest has seen overwhelming support from Wisconsin workers, students and community members. Over the course of the week, thousands of Wisconsinites have gathered on the cement blocks lining the Capitol Square in order to call attention to Gov. Walker and his legislative allies’ destructive budget proposals—proposals which will cripple Wisconsin’s schools, health care system and communities.

Tonight in Walkerville public employees held a mock listening session to educate and inform the community about the services they provide and how the budget will directly impact the people of Wisconsin.

For years, billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch flew under the radar as they financed right-wing campaigns and extreme conservative think tanks to overturn financial regulations, corporate rules, environmental standards, workers’ rights and the entire litany of “evils” on the radical right agenda.

In an e-mail praising Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s (R) attack on worker rights and middle-class jobs, an Indiana deputy prosecutor suggested a fake attack on Walker to discredit the workers and their unions protesting the governor’s actions.

Madison [Wis.] Chief of Police Nobel Wray says that Gov. Scott Walker’s (R) admission that he  had discussed planting troublemakers to provoke protestors in the peaceful crowds in Madison is “very unsettling and troubling.”

He bragged extensively about his fight against public employees and derided the tens of thousands of Wisconsinites who have been protesting his assault on middle-class jobs.
