The Greater Green Bay Labor Council
and the Brown County United Way have organized their third annual “Blanketing Brown County” blanket drive. Last year’s drive collected 2,000 blankets for distribution to 32 Brown County programs serving homeless and low-income people.
Union members are working to keep area residents warm this winter with Brown County United Way and the Greater Green Bay Labor Council Community Services Committee. The two groups are hosting the second annual Blanketing Brown County drive, collecting new and gently used blankets for distribution to area shelters and agencies. Blanketing Brown County begins today and continues through Jan. 29.
The Greater Green Bay (Wis.) Labor Council participates in two community service drives each year. Volunteers like Plumbers and Pipe Fitters (
) members Len Boknevitz and Glen Fay (pictured, left to right) will engage in about 260 to 280 hours of bell-ringing for the Salvation Army as part of the "Bells of Organized Labor" event.
