Want a job? Want Medicare when you retire?  How about good public schools? Then look out: Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) is joining with his tea party allies to hold a vote today that would guarantee deep, radical cuts—and make those cuts part of the U.S. Constitution, the supreme law of the land.

Missouri union members, senior citizens, faith leaders and community groups have been trying for weeks and months to meet with their congressman, Republican Rep. Todd Akin, and ask him why he opposes Social Security and Medicare and his failure to support legislation that would get Missourians back to work. Seems Florida Gov. Rick Scott, a government-bashing, tea party follower is paying just $30 a month for health care—state taxpayers are covering the rest. Yet Scott easily handed over $73 million of his own cash to get elected.

According to The National Journal, the Senate is expected to vote today on Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) budget that not only permanently extends the Bush tax cuts—but gives even more tax cuts to Wall Street and the wealthy—and pays for them by slashing services for seniors, children and low- and middle-income working families.

The fight for workers’ rights and middle class jobs continues this weekend in Madison with demonstrations against Gov. Scott Walker’s (R) plan to take away collective bargaining rights for some 200,000 public workers.

Looks like a California tea party activist took to heart AC/DC’s song  “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” to take a swipe Ohio public employees. Thanks to the good folks at the progressive blog Plunderbund for publicizing the trickery.
