WHEREAS, destructive, time consuming, and resource-depleting raids on AFL-CIO unions by non-affiliated Unions are increasing; and
WHEREAS, such raiding activity undermines efforts to promote shared prosperity and weakens the ability of AFL-CIO Unions to establish and maintain wage and benefit standards for working men and women and their families; and

WHEREAS, the AFL-CIO must establish stronger mechanisms to protect its affiliates and the workers they represent from these unprincipled, unbridled, anti-trade union activities;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the AFL-CIO Convention calls upon all affiliates, including state and local central bodies in every state, to work together to defeat attacks on trade union solidarity from non-affiliated unions; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the AFL-CIO Convention urges the Executive Council to accord priority consideration to provide the resources needed to defeat raids from non-affiliated unions; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that adequate resources be made available to affiliates from a special fund established for such purposes.
